Beloved brethren, today I want us to meditate on one wisdom nugget I got from one of my spiritual fathers. He said:
“If you are right, don’t waste time proving it to everyone. If you are wrong don’t waste time pretending to be right,”
If you are right about something, resist the temptation to prove it to everyone around you constantly.
Instead, live out that truth with grace and humility.
Proverbs 27:2 KJV, says,
“Let another man praise thee, and not thine own mouth; a stranger, and not thine own lips.”
When you are secure in the rightness of your ways, you need not feel the urge to boast or convince others.
Rather, you should focus on honouring God and serving others with the knowledge you have.
If on the other hand, you find that you were wrong about something, don’t waste your precious time and energy trying to save face. Trying to pretend you are right.
Proverbs 28:13 KJV, instructs,
“He that covereth his sins shall not prosper: but whoso confesseth and forsaketh them shall have mercy.”
‘If you are right about something, resist the temptation to prove it to everyone around you constantly’ – Boniface Amani Gichina (CPM)
True wisdom lies in the humility to admit you are wrong, and the courage to make the necessary changes.
This paves the way for growth, healing and restoration.
Please remember:
1. If you are right, don’t waste time trying to prove it to everyone.
2. If you are wrong, don’t waste time pretending to be right.
Now you know !!!
