Paying Debts Promptly

Beloved brethren, today I want to shed some light on a very sensitive matter. The subject of “Paying Debts”.

A debt is not a sin.

But debts can be heavy burdens, weighing us down, limiting our financial freedom.

Delays in debts repayment can spoil someone’s reputation, thereby depreciating his social capital.

The Bible reminds us of the importance of promptly paying what we owe.

In Psalm 37:21NIV, the Bible says,

“The wicked borrow and do not repay,
but the righteous give generously”

Paying our debts on time is not just a financial responsibility: it is a reflection of our character.

Apostle Paul wrote in Romans 13:8 NIV,

“Let no debt remain outstanding, except the continuing debt to love one another”

When we honour our financial obligations, we build trust and strengthen our social status.

Prompt debt repayment is a powerful financial principle for those who wish to prosper.

It demonstrates discipline, integrity, and a commitment to personal responsibility.

Let us embrace the wisdom of paying our debts without delay.

Not only will it lighten our load, but it will also position us for greater financial and relational blessings.

Paying a debt on time does not only honour God,
but it also honour the lender,
and create goodwill for the borrower which is a good Social Capital for him.

Be a good steward of your resources by paying your debts promptly.

Where delays are inevitable, keep your lenders in the picture.
