Beloved brethren, Jesus made one of the most profound statements in Matthew 5:9, where he said:
“Blessed are the peacemakers:
for they shall be called the children of God.”
To be a peacemaker is to reflect the very heart of God.
He has called us to live in harmony with one another.
When we SOW peace, we SHOW the world that we are His children.
Hebrews 12:14, KJV says:
“Follow peace with all men, and holiness, without which no man shall see the Lord.”
Additionally, Apostle Paul talks about peace in various places in the Scriptures:
Romans 12:18,
“If it be possible, as much as lieth in you, live peaceably with all men.”
1 Corinthians 14:33,
“For God is not the author of confusion, but of peace, ….”
Colossians 3:15,
“Let the peace of God rule in your hearts, …..; and be ye thankful.”
Dear brethren, let us invest in peace-making: mending broken relationships, calming storms with love, and pointing people to Christ the Prince of Peace (Isaiah 9:6).
When we do so, we walk in our true identity as “Children of God”.
