Beloved brethren, today I invite you to reflect on the profound wisdom found in the statement below:
“Strive for excellence. Don’t be average. Average is being the best of the worst or the worst of the best.”
In our journey through life, we are often tempted to settle into the comfort of average rating. But we are called to much more than mere average existence.
God desires for us to strive for excellence in all that we do.
In Colossians 3:23, it is written,
“And whatsoever ye do, do it heartily, as to the Lord, and not unto men.”
This scripture urges us to infuse our efforts with passion and purpose.
To be average is to accept what is easy rather than challenge ourselves to grow and improve.
It is to live in the realm of the comfortable, where we might be regarded as the best of the worst or the worst of the best.
But we are the children of God the Most High, the Father of Excellency.
Refusing to be average means embracing opportunities to learn, innovate, and push beyond our limitations.
It means waking up each day with the determination to improve and pursue our God-given visions diligently.
It is about setting our sights on the high calling we have received.
“And whatsoever ye do, do it heartily, as to the Lord, and not unto men.” – Colossians 3:23
And as we strive for excellence, let us also be mindful of our motivations.
In everything we do, we should seek to reflect the light of God, our creator.
Matthew 5:16 KJV says,
“Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.”
I urge you to cast aside the shackles of mediocrity, and embrace the challenge of excellence with open arms!
In every endeavor, big or small, pour your heart into your work, striving to be the best version of yourself.
Rise above average knowing that with every effort, you are honouring God and uplifting others as a shining example.
Aim high, strive diligently, and let the excellence of your life bring glory to God.
You will not be average anymore.
Excellency will become your second name.
