Beloved brethren, today I want us to reflect on a simple but powerful scripture from the book of Micah.
Micah 6:8 NIV,
“He has shown you, O mortal man, what is good.
And what does the Lord require of you?
To act justly,
to love mercy,
and to walk humbly with your God.”
What a powerful yet simple reminder of how we are called to live.
In just a few words, this verse captures the heart of a life well-lived: a life that honours God and blesses others.
1. Act Justly:
Stand for what is right, defend the vulnerable, and live with integrity.
Justice is not just for the world “out there”: justice starts with the choices we make every day.
2. Love Mercy:
Be quick to forgive, slow to judge, and generous with kindness.
Mercy softens hearts, heals wounds, and reflects the love of God in us
3. Walk Humbly with Your God:
Life is not about pride or self-sufficiency.
Life is about trusting God, leaning on His wisdom, and recognising that every good thing comes from Him.
Let us embrace this beautiful verse: not just as a one-time effort, but as a daily lifestyle of love, mercy, and humility.
Imagine how different the world would be if we all lived this way.
Let it start with you.
